Are you confident that you have trusted in Jesus, received forgiveness for all your sins, and have begun walking in the new direction of life with Jesus?

Why would you like to be baptized?

Read: Matthew 3:13-17

The first thing Jesus did when He began His public ministry was to identify with repentant sinners by being baptized. Why did Jesus insist that John baptize him? (vs. 15)

How did God the Father respond to this step of obedience by His Son? (vs.17)

Read: Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16

Jesus Himself was baptized and God asks us to follow Him and identify publicly with Jesus through baptism. Would it be accurate to say that baptism is important to Jesus?

Read: Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12

Baptism is a great picture of how our old life and sins were defeated through Jesus’ death. We are raised out of the water as a picture of the new resurrection life that we have in Christ. Does the idea of baptism make sense to you?
